A short history

Seville was a Roman, then Visigothic, then Moorish city for over five centuries. After the Christian conquest in 1248 the Alcazar was rebuilt in Mudejar style. In the 16th century it held the monopoly on trade with the Americas and became one of Europe's richest cities.
