A short history

Belfast grew in the 17th century and became a linen and shipbuilding centre, building the Titanic at Harland and Wolff. The late 20th century Troubles brought violence to the city and divided communities. The 1998 Good Friday Agreement brought a peace process, and the city has since rebuilt with new museums, restaurants and visitors.
